My Story

Hello potential benefactor and welcome to my fundraising page! My name is Connor Hansford, I’m 21, fat, and more than a little idiotic for you see I agreed to ascend to Mount Everest Base Camp because I thought it was at, well, the base. I thought, ‘I shall have a lovely fortnights’ holiday in the foothills of the world’s tallest mountain, then, on the eleventh day, I shall head towards Base Camp, take a couple of quick pics, pick up some souvenir tee shirts from the Base Camp gift shop, and head home again’. No one told me Base Camp is sixty percent of the way up the sodding mountain, pardon my French. Well, I’m no coward! Or so I thought. Immediately I realised my mistake, I got on the Google and found out that, bugger – it was too late to cancel. But no matter! Adventure is my middle name! Oh, wait, no it isn’t: my middle name is Grahame. Anyway, what’s in a name? Not much, if Everest is anything to go by: Base Camp my foot! More like Most-of-the-way-up-the-mountain Camp. But I digress!

Why Everest Base Camp and don’t you get achy walking from your house to Plymouth City Centre? Yes, and to raise money for Hope for Children, a small but invaluable charity that does wonderful stuff for disadvantaged kids all over the world. To find out more about the projects you’ll be helping to support, head to https://www.hope-for-children.org/stories-of-hope. Meanwhile, please please PLEASE donate, even if it’s only a quid. I’ll love you forever! Thank you all so much, and I’ll (hopefully) see you on the other side!

Thank You
